Purpose

College of America is an institution of higher education for adult learners. Our mission is to prepare and equip men and women to improve their personal and professional lives. Our purpose is to deliver high-quality undergraduate educational programs. Our objective is to offer to our students the foundation, knowledge, and skills they need as a basis for their life, work or future graduate studies.

The purpose has been clearly defined and is appropriate to specific educational offerings. Each of the programs offered by the institution includes a General Educational Program Required Course component and a Biblical/Theological General Education Required Course component, and a professional component. This design will insure that the personal and professional lives of each of the graduates of the institution will be enhanced. This design also insures that students are offered “the foundation, knowledge, and skills they need as a basis for their life and work or future graduate studies.”

The Statement of Purpose was officially adopted by the Board of Directors on March 1, 2005. The Board of Directors has also adopted a policy requiring that the Statement of Purpose be reviewed annually.
